Konkan Beach Marathon - Edition 2

Welcome to the second edition of the Konkan Beach Marathon, this run is run entirely on the beautiful beach of a town called Nagaon, near Mumbai. The race is run during the low tide , so the sand is packed and hard and the route is flat. We flag off just before a late , winter sunrise on the Moonlit beach , and midway through your run , you are greeted with the morning sun. The run ends on the beach itself, where you get your Konkan Beach Marathon Finisher Medal ,and enjoy post run festivities , and breakfast.

About

Konkan Beach Marathon is run entirely on the beach. The sand is compact and firm. We start running before the sunrise when there is the early dark blue light. It is ok to run barefoot but remember some sea shells also have sharp edges. At the finish everyone dips into the Arabian Sea. You can keep a change of clothes at the baggage counter at the start-finish point. At the finish you will have music band, this beach carnival continues up to 10:30 AM.
Race is conducted under the aegis of Raigad District Athletic Association.
